Complete dentures

Complete dentures are cost-effective treatments for replacing teeth in an entire arch. They are aesthetically pleasing, and less time is required for the procedure.

Complete dentures can be immediate or conventional. Conventional complete dentures involve the removal of all teeth for around eight weeks before the construction of the denture. This time lets the tissues heal from the extractions, allowing the denture to fit perfectly. This is because the tissues underneath are no longer changing shape due to the healing process.

Immediate complete dentures involve the removal of all teeth behind the canines, followed by letting the tissue heal for eight weeks. As all of the teeth are not removed, it is less uncomfortable for the patient, and he can still smile during the healing process.

A partial denture or missing tooth replacement, also called a dental bridge, consists of fake teeth attached to a gum-coloured plastic base. It is used when only a few of the teeth are missing in the upper or low jaw while the others remain intact.
